Buyer Protection & Marketplace Rules
Vaultara is built around real physical collectibles, tracked seller payouts, and a clear dispute process. Buyers pay through secure Stripe checkout. Sellers must complete Stripe payout setup before listing items for sale.
What Buyer Protection Covers
- Item never received.
- Wrong item sent.
- Item arrives materially damaged.
- Item is materially different from the listing description or photos.
- Counterfeit concerns.
- Grade or certification mismatch.
How a Protected Purchase Works
Payment is completed through Stripe checkout. Buyers do not need a Stripe seller account.
Seller adds the carrier and tracking information in Seller Center.
Standard seller item proceeds remain held until delivery and the buyer-protection period clears. Trusted Sellers may qualify for earlier item proceeds.
Buyers can report a problem directly from My Orders. Open cases prevent affected seller funds from being treated as clean completed sales while under review.
Seller Rules
- Only list items you actually own and can ship.
- Use accurate photos and descriptions of the exact item.
- Clearly disclose damage, cleaning, defects, altered surfaces, uncertain attribution, or certification details when known.
- Do not misrepresent raw coins as professionally graded.
- Use the actual slab label as the primary source for graded coins.
- Ship promptly and provide valid tracking.
- Do not manipulate bids, ratings, or transactions.
Buyer Rules
- Bid and buy only when you intend to pay.
- Auction wins are binding marketplace purchases and must be paid within the displayed payment window.
- Use the dispute system for legitimate order problems, not price changes after purchase.
- Do not abuse chargebacks, ratings, messaging, or seller reports.
- Review photos, description, grade, certification and shipping terms before paying.
Auctions
When an auction ends, the highest valid bidder becomes the winner. Vaultara creates a payment-due order and sends the winner through normal secure checkout. If payment is not completed within the allowed window, the auction can expire and the item may be relisted.
Seller payouts from paid auction orders follow the same shipping and buyer-protection process as fixed-price marketplace purchases.
Disputes & Refunds
Buyers can open a case from My Orders and choose a reason such as not received, wrong item, damaged, not as described, counterfeit concern, or grade/cert mismatch.
Vaultara records the case for review. Refunds, reversals, and seller-fund recovery are handled through the marketplace payment flow when warranted. A case being opened does not automatically mean the buyer or seller is at fault.
Vaultara Exchange is a marketplace platform and does not guarantee investment performance, future resale value, or that AI-assisted coin identification is error-free. Buyers and sellers should independently verify important numismatic, grading, metal-content, and certification details before completing high-value transactions.
